On October 3rd at 6:30 pm I will be presenting one of the manifestos in the PRELUDE NYC Festival presented at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the Graduate Center, CUNY.  Artists Involved: Ray Campbell, Bobby Foley, Kim Gainer, Jen Kwok, Sara Pauley, Jen Taher,  Chris Tyler and Peter Mills Weiss; choreographed by  Sara Pauley; directed by Sara Pauley, Julian Mesri and Chase Voorhees. ( with special thanks to former founding ETG member Teddy Nicholas and Lindsay Mack).

Description of the manifesto as follows:

WORK HARD PLAY HARDER: a manifesto by a next generation theatre makerEverywhere Theatre Group’s Flying Snakes in 3-D!!! prompted a serious and polarizing dialogue about race, theater and class privilege in 2012. In this manifesto, young half minority female playwright Leah Nanako Winkler will tackle these same issues with her collaborators while emphasizing  the importance of gratitude, respect, strength, vulnerability, communication, diversity and most of all, a sense of play, to keep theater relevant in this facebook society.

All of the manifestos will take place from 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm | Segal Theatre. First come, first served, and free. I go 2nd in the line up that consists of amazing artists Richard Foreman(in conversation with Tony Torn) Mac Wellman (performed by David Greenspan),  David Levine, Faye Driscoll,  Maria Striar, Caden Manson, Branden Jacobs Jenkins, Jay Scheib, Tina Satter and Miguel Gutierrez.
